I am Dan Lima owner and head trainer at Blue Skye K9. I have always been drawn to dogs and the bond they create with people. I use a balanced method to dog training. This method consist of praise, treats, and play as rewards for good behavior. While also using the proper training tools to effectively communicate and change behaviors that are not desired. Similar to parents teaching children, we have lots of fun with our dogs, but we as owners must also teach them when they are doing the wrong thing. I teach dogs and owners how to build a better relationship through proper trust, communication and leadership. I guide owners who need assistance with: Puppies, House Training, Crate Training, Basic and Advanced Obedience, E-Collar/Off Leash Obedience, Reactivity and Behavior Modification.

Currently all programs/dog training are done in the owners home.

Puppy Training

Our Puppy training sessions are designed for dogs under 6 months. These sessions are designed to teach your puppy the Beginnings of Sit, Down, Place, Crate, Walking On Leash, Door Threshold, Socialization and Managing Unwanted Behaviors (jumping, biting, chewing and mouthing) Give your puppy a great start!

Basic Obedience

Our Basic Obedience sessions are designed for dogs 6 months and older. These sessions are designed to teach you how to give your dog a beginning foundation to become a great companion and family member. Basic Obedience Training covers: Sit, Down, Heel, Place, Off and Crate.

Advanced Obedience

Advanced Obedience sessions are designed for dogs who have completed our “Basic Obedience” course and want to continue their progression to a well behaved dog with distractions. This course covers Sit, Down, Heel, Place, Off, Crate, Come/Recall, Sit/Down in Motion and increasing the distractions while performing commands.
All packages must be paid in full before first session.

E-Collar Training

Our E-Collar course is designed to condition your dog properly with the E-Collar to make the transition of going “Off Leash” a fun, positive experience. This course takes everything your dog has learned in the “Advanced Obedience” course and layers it into the E-Collar work. This course is for those who want the “Off Leash” life style.

Bundled Classes

We offer bundled classes. Bundled classes come in packs of 2 sessions, 3 sessions, 4 sessions and 5 sessions. These bundled sessions can be used to work on any training you would like.

My 11 month old yellow lab Tully just finished the 6 week basic obedience course with Dan. She was having trouble breaking bad habits like jumping and nipping, as well as listening and walking on a leash. Dan worked with us to correct these behaviors and beyond that. The training regimen was easy to do at home with my busy schedule and reminded me that training is more than just showing up to sessions! Dan has done an excellent job training my German Shorthaired Pointer, Tess. He tailors each session to your goals, accommodates your schedule and is always punctual. He was able to improve her obedience and reactivity to certain triggers while also giving guidance on how to expel her energy mentally and physically. Tess is a better dog since working with Dan.
